ABOUT SIDDHARTH COLLEGE OF LAW, MUMBAI 

Siddharth College of Law,Mumbai was founded in Mumbai in 1956. It is run by the People’s Education Society which was formed by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on 8 July 1945. The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college was formed with a vision to spread legal education amongst all sections of society.  

ABOUT ALRC 

Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar Legal Research Centre (An Initiative of Siddharth College of Law, Mumbai) was inaugurated in 2010 by Hon’ble Chief Justice of India Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud and Hon’ble Justice Abhay Oka. Eminent legal personalities such as the Late Hon’ble Justice Krishna Iyer andthe Late Prof Madhav Menon were associated with the centre as Honorary Members.  

REVITALIZATION OF THE CENTRE 

ALRC is currently being revitalized by Adv. Eshan Borikar and Adv. V. Mangala under the overall guidance and supervision of Principal Ms. Sandhya Dokhe and Dr. Arunachalam Chettiar. ALRC is initiating various research projects. Furthermore, it is launching its own legal blog and the Ambedkar Law Journal. 

AMBEDKAR LAW JOURNAL 

The Ambedkar Law Journal is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal on all aspects of law, centered at Siddharth College of Law, Mumbai.

CITATION FORMAT 

Citation Format: The author(s) shall provide due credit to the original work through citation. Author(s) shall insert citations as footnotes conforming to the referencing style of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th or 21st ed.) 

Citations of electronic sources should include an author or editor, the title of the text, date, the title of the website, the electronic address, and page or paragraph numbers. 

GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION 

  1. The author(s) shall submit an abstract of not less than 200 words and not more than 300 words, along with 5 keywords. The abstract shall be concise and precise to the manuscript submitted by the author(s). 
  1. Co-authorship is permitted up to 2 authors. 
  1. Submissions shall be in English language only. The journal does not accept submissions in languages other than English. 
  1. All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration to be published by any other journal/forum. Any form of plagiarism will lead to the rejection of the manuscript. The maximum permissible plagiarism is 15%. 
  1. All submissions are to be made in the MS Word format document. 
  1. The author(s) shall submit a cover letter containing details of the author(s)’s Full name, Designation, semester & course (if a student), university/organization/freelancer (specify), contact number, and E-Mail ID. 
  1. All Submissions should include 4 to 5 key takeaways of their Manuscript.

PUBLICATION GUIDELINES 

  1. The authors cannot withdraw the manuscript after submission and during the review process. 
  1. The Editorial Board will review the submissions, and the decision of the editorial board will be final. 
  1. The Editorial Board can recommend suggestions or make necessary changes as per requirement. 
  1. All the selected Manuscripts will be published in Ambedkar Law journal.

About the University

Gujarat Maritime University is an endeavor by the Gujarat Maritime Board, Government of Gujarat to provide a fillip to the growth in the Maritime Sector by bridging the knowledge gap in the sector. The prime objective of Gujarat Maritime University is to be a global center of excellence in maritime education, research and development, professional training and it aims to enhance and increase the human capital and capacity of the maritime industry both in India and across the globe.

About the Journal

The GMU Journal of Maritime Environmental Law (GJMEL) is an initiative of the Centre for Maritime Environmental Law associated to the Gujarat Maritime University. In its endeavour to contribute to the burgeoning field of marine environmental law, the centre has introduced its Annual Print Journal, thereby calling out the legal community such as the student, academicians, professionals, policy makers, entrepreneurs and other esteemed guest from legal fraternity to contribute to the literature in the form of Research Paper / Articles.

Theme

Manuscripts related to legal and technical aspects of marine environment shall be accepted. The manuscripts are expected to have varied perspectives viz. national and international.

Eligibility

It is open for academicians, practitioners, research scholars, undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Submission Guidelines

1. The author/s are requested to strictly follow the guidelines.

2. Only manuscripts in English shall be accepted for publication.

3. Manuscripts should be submitted as soft copy in MS Word as an attachment to an email to be sent at

4. Manuscripts should be submitted in Garamond with font size 12, line spacing 1.5’; justified, with margins of 1.5” to the left and 1.0” on all sides.

5. The author(s) is/are required to submit a covering letter containing all personal details (Name of the author/s, their degrees, Designation, Name of College/University/Institution, Postal Address, Phone Number and E-mail ID) in separate sheets.

Each Manuscript should contain:

a. Title page with full title and subtitle (if any). The Manuscript should not contain any identification of the author/s, which shall be ground for rejection of the submission.

c. Abstract of 250-300 words

d. Word Limit (excluding footnotes)

The Centre for Labour Law (CLL) at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal is proud to announce the Call for Papers for Volume II of the NLIU Journal for Labour and Employment Law (JLEL) – an annual peer-reviewed journal.

About JLEL

The NLIU-JLEL is a peer-reviewed annual labour and employment law journal which aims to create meaningful debate and discourse to build a fair and equitable regime of workspace laws and to study the dynamic confluence of the academic and the human resource represented by such laws.

Theme

We welcome original, genuine and unpublished contributions from students, academicians and practitioners for the Journal. The Journal is accepting submissions under the broad theme of “Labour and Employment Laws” including inter alia industrial disputes, discrimination, gig economy, exploitation, minimum wage, restraint of trade, and whistleblowing. However, the submissions must be of contemporary relevance.

Categories of Submissions

The submission can be made under any of the following categories:

  • Articles (4000 to 8000 words) The article must be a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the problem(s) or idea(s) dealt with by the author and should include references to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Essays (2000 to 4000 words) The essay must be an analysis of the problem(s) or idea(s) dealt with by the author and should include references to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Case Comment (2000 to 5000 words) The comment must be a critical analysis of a recent judgement, bringing out its relevance in light of development of laws, views expressed in the judgement and views of the author(s). The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Book Review (1000 to 3000 words) The review must be a crisp account of a recently published book including the issues explored and the related arguments of the author. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Legislative Comment (2000 to 4000 words) The comment must analyse a recent legislative enactment. It must examine the objective of the legislation and the legal impact the same is expected to have. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.

(NOTE: Submissions in the categories of Book Review(s), Case Comment(s) and Legislative Comment(s) will be highly appreciated.)

Submission Guidelines

  • All original submissions must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words which is exclusive of the word limit and should be included within the document of the manuscript. A separate document containing only the Abstract must also be submitted. The abstract must expressly include the novelty and usefulness of the idea that the author wishes to put forth and must categorically mention the specific contribution of the submission, beyond the existing available literature, the practical utility of their recommendation. The abstract must also contain 5 keywords at the end.
  • All submissions must be in MS Word format (.doc) or (.docx), with Times New Roman font (body: size 12, line spacing: 1.50; footnotes: size 10, line spacing: 1.00).
  • The Journal uses only footnotes (and not endnotes) as a method of citation. The footnotes must conform to the Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA, 4th Edition). Non-compliance with this may lead to disqualification.
  • The submissions made should not be plagiarised. Any submission in contravention of this rule shall be summarily rejected.
  • The manuscript itself must not contain any information as to the name(s) of the author(s), the institution, address or any other information that may reveal or indicate their identity.
  • Co-authorship is permitted for up to 2 authors. However, co-authorship is not allowed in case of Case Comment, Book Review and Legislative Comment.
  • Submissions are accepted for publication on the condition that they do not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third parties. If the submission is found to be violative of any of the rights of the other party, the author(s) shall be solely responsible for such violation.
  • Submissions made should be on an exclusive basis i.e., submission should be unpublished and should not be under any concurrent consideration.
  • The editorial board reserves its rights to suggest changes/make amends/request to add or delete any portion in the submitted manuscript, based upon the discretion of the editor. The author(s) are supposed to incorporate the suggested changes within the specified time limit.
  • All submissions must be made on this form only, before 23:59 hours, 31st October 2021.
  • If the manuscript is selected for publication, the Centre for Labour Laws will have the copyright over the same, and the authors will be granted the moral rights for the same.

Jus Corpus is an open-access journal and invites manuscripts on any theme related to law.

WORD LIMIT FOR SUBMISSIONS

  • CASE COMMENTS: A case comment allows the author to critique any recent/landmark judicial pronouncement, legislation, or a pending bill. The word limits for a case comment is 1,500-2,500 words.
  • SHORT ARTICLES: An essay challenges existing paradigms/norms and provides a fresh outlook to common problems. It is strongly recommended that essays be considerably more concise than articles, in terms of scope and conceptualization. A short article must thus ideally be between 2,000-4,000 words.
  • LONG ARTICLES: An article must comprehensively analyze the issue that the author seeks to highlight. It must contain a rigorous study of the status quo or a contemporary issue in any area of Law. A long article should be between 4,000-10,000 words.
  • BOOK REVIEWS: The book review must be written in a concise manner. The word limit for book review is 1000-2,000 words.

1. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes. However, looking at the quality and depth of research, relaxation may be given and the word limit may vary.
2. The Subject of the E-mail should be titled “Article Submission (Vol. 2 Issue 1)”.

3. Depending upon the Submission, the Subject can be Case Comment, Book Review, Short Article or Long Article.

The Volume & Issue may vary from time to time. Kindly mention the correct details.

4. The Short or Long article must contain an Abstract of 150-300 words with 3-7 Keywords.

ELIGIBILITY

Entries from scholars including students pursuing Bachelors or Masters Course in Law would be accepted.

CITATION STYLE

The OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities) citation method must be followed.

THE FORMAT OF MAIN TEXT AND THE FOOTNOTES

The Times New Roman Font with Font size 12 and Line spacing of 1.5 is prescribed for all entries. Further, the footnotes shall be in Times New Roman Font with Font size 10 and Line spacing of 1.0 shall be followed respectively.

ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY

  • A separate document containing the biographical information of the authors, including the following details: Name, E-mail address, Name and Address of Institution, Course, Contact number and Academic Year. No reference to the name or the affiliations of the author(s) must be present in the text of the submission and must only be provided in a separate document.
  • Co-authorship is allowed, to a maximum of three authors.
  • The abstract should be written in the Manuscript. Please note that there is no requirement of prior submission of the abstract, as papers are selected for publication only on the basis of the full manuscript.

PUBLICATION POLICY

  • All the submissions send to us must be original and attached with a declaration of originality. Submissions should not have been published nor should they be under consideration for publication in any other journal.
  • Plagiarism up to 10% is allowed.
  • The Editors reserve the right to delete or edit any article or part thereof whose content is found to be offensive, defamatory, out-rightly unethical, or if it is suggestive of racism, sexual or religious discrimination, illegal or terror activities, etc.
  • Manuscript Reviewing Fee will be discussed on email.

The subject line must read “Submission for Publication”.

Manuscript Reviewing Fee depends upon your Submission, the fee can be reduced or waived off after the review of the Manuscript.

Guidelines for Submission

Abstract: Every submission should be accompanied by an abstract of 250-300 words describing the relevant conclusions drawn in the manuscript.

Keywords: Every submission shall provide with 5-8 relevant keywords.

Copyright: Author(s) shall warrant that the paper submitted for publication do not infringe the copyright of any other person. Except agreed otherwise, the copyright of the articles published shall vest with the publisher, viz., MyLawman Socio Legal Review. However, editorial board of Law Journal of MyLawman shall not be liable for any copyright infringement by the authors.

Cover Page: In order to facilitate anonymity, authors must mention their names, contact details and affiliations only on the cover page of the manuscript.

English: Follow British spellings and punctuation conventions.

Font Size & Style: Kindly use Times New Roman, 12 point, for the main text and 10 point for footnotes.

Headings: The heading should be used as per the following style:

  • First Heading: 14 pt, bold, centre
  • Second Heading: 12 pt, bold, left- aligned
  • Third Heading: 12 pt, Italics, Centre

Length: Articles should generally be between 8,000 and 10,000 words (including footnotes. Notes, case comments and book reviews should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words. The Editorial Board may, however, accept longer submissions in appropriate cases.)

Line Spacing: The line spacing of main text of paper should be 1.5.

References: Footnotes should be used and not end notes.

Footnoting Style: Submissions should follow ILI rules of footnote available at http://www.ili.ac.in

Review Process: All papers will be reviewed anonymously by the editorial board. Author(s) will be notified within 4-6 weeks about the status of their papers. Request for expedit review may not be entertained.

Substance: Paper should contain an original contribution to scholarship by making a cohesive argument supported with appropriate authorities.

Quotations/ Quotation Mark: Quotations over 50 words should be intended. Double quotation mark should be used; single quotation mark should be used only for quotes within a quotation.

The Publication Committee of Kirit P Mehta School of Law, NMIMS has 3 periodicals under its shade, one of them being The Legal Arc. The Legal Arc serves as a platform for informed debates on legal issues while providing commentaries on developments in the legal sphere, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives for the reader.

Call for Submissions

Volume 2 Issue 1 of The Legal Arc is inviting submissions till the 20th of September, 2021.

  • Articles for the Vol 2 Issue 1 must be between 1500-2500 words. 
  • Submissions shall be in .doc or .docx format. Main Text: Garamond font, Font Size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5 
  • References should be hyperlinked wherever necessary.

About the Blog

Gender Justice Cell at NLIU endeavors to promote gender equality and raises concerns against acts of injustice and discrimination on grounds of sex and promotes research based on the issues related to gender and law. NLIU Blog of Law And Gender offers a forum for critical research on the interplay of contemporary issues in gender-related laws, both from an academic and social perspective. Along with exploring the various problems and challenges that affect the gender issue, the blog attempts to explore and offer workable solutions, which may be helpful in regulatory and policy decisions. The Editorial Board welcomes submissions of original articles, comments, and discussions related to Law and Gender. It aims to promote a culture of scholarly research and academic writing among students by publishing articles of subjects of interest to the legal profession and academia.

Eligibility

Law students pursuing the three-year LLB, as well as the five years integrated LLB program, students pursuing LLM or Ph.D., Research Associates, Academicians, Educators, practitioners, and professionals interested or involved in the area are eligible to submit.

Themes

The submissions by the writer(s) must strictly conform to originality within the broad theme of Gender Law and related legal aspects. Submissions may include case comments on recent judgments, legislative comments on any legislation affecting gender rights, or any article on contemporary issues of gender law. Further, submissions analyzing or critiquing already existing academic research on a topic or issue are also welcome.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions shall be typewritten in Garamond, font size 12 with line spacing 1.5 and justified alignment.
  • Submissions shall not be less than 1200 words and shall not exceed 1500 words (exclusive of endnotes).
  • Submissions shall contain hyperlinks in the body of the manuscript itself, instead of footnotes and endnotes. Endnotes may be used for references where hyperlinks are not possible, or the source is under a paywall or offline – such as books, articles, etc.
  • The Authors should conform to the Bluebook (20th edition) Uniform System of Citation. Endnotes shall be typewritten in, Garamond, font size 10, single-line spacing, and justified alignment.
  • The Manuscript should not contain any identification of the author/s, which shall be a ground for rejection of the submission.
  • The submission must be the original work of the authors. Plagiarism beyond 10% shall not be accepted.
  • Manuscripts shall be assessed by subjection to Blind Review Procedure. Reviewers shall not be informed of the author’s name, university, year in college, or any other personal information.
  • Submissions shall be lucid, contemporarily relevant, and well-researched. They shall contain a novel analysis of the issue by the author(s).
  • Authors will be informed regarding acceptance or rejection of their manuscripts within 10 to 14 days and an acknowledgement receipt will be sent within 48 hours of submission of the manuscript.

Submission Guidelines

  • Subject Matter: The Centre for Academic Legal Research Journal of Applicable Law & Jurisprudence accepts research/scholarly work on every legal subject matter. The editorial board, upon the review of the work, sorts the paper into the appropriate chapters such as CSCLI, CCFL, CSDR, CTL & CEA.
  • Submission must be in form of descriptive, analytical, or critical analysis of the particular subject matter.
  • The submission should reflect original, unpublished work and not under review on any other platform. A maximum similarity of 15% is allowed. Non-adherence to this rule shall result in the rejection of the research/scholarly work summarily without any chance of revision.
  • Note: If an author withdraws his submission after initiation of the review process (within the seven-day deadline) he can be blacklisted from further publications, at the discretion of the Managing Editors or Project Heads.
  • Submission must ideally be limited to a length of 3000 words to 7000 works, inclusive of abstract.
  • Note: Every research/scholarly work shall consist of a limited 300 to 400 words abstract.
  • Format: Submissions should be made only in Microsoft Word (.docx) format. The submission should adhere to the following formatting style. Font: Times New Roman, Font size: 12, Line spacing: 1.5” (For endnotes Font size: 10, Line spacing: 1”)
  • Relevant sources such as judgments, laws, treaties, news articles, and other legal texts must be added as hyperlinks in-text (if possible) but must contain proper citations adhering to the uniform Bluebook 20th Edition citation style.\
  • The submission should have an informative title. If the author wishes the editorial board to assign a title, the author should inform the same in the body of the mail.

Here special emphasis is placed on contemporary legal studies along with its foundational philosophical thoughts. About the University

The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) were established by the Government of Assam by way of enactment of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009 (Assam Act No. XXV of 2009). The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the
Gauhati High Court is the Chancellor of the University. NLUJAA promotes and makes available modern legal education and research facilities to its students, scholars and faculty are drawn from across the country, including the North East, hailing from different socio-economic, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds.

About Submission

The Editorial Committee of NLUA Law Review is inviting quality research papers from Academicians and professionals (inter/multi-disciplinary with the law), Judges and Advocates, Research Scholars, and Students if the editorial board deems it fit to be an extraordinary work of scholarly merit.

Submission Categories

The research paper should be thematic and identification of sub-themes will be highly appreciated. It should have proper research questions and should also reflect the findings. The submission can be sent under the following categories :

  • Research Articles: (5000 and 7000 words) Authors have to submit research papers that comprehensively examine the topic. It should reflect an innovative re-assessment of the theme. It is advisable, though not necessary, to choose a theme that is of contemporary importance. Purely theoretical-analytical pieces are also welcome.
  • Notes / Comments: (2000 and 3500 words) This section should include a thought-provoking and innovative piece consisting chiefly of personal opinions, analysis or criticism on recent development from the legal perspective.
  • Case / Report Comments: (maximum 2500 words) This part should entail an analysis of recent Indian or International judicial pronouncements relevant to the themes. It must identify and examine the line of cases in which the decision in question came about, and comment on implications for the evolution of that branch of law.
  • Book Review: (1000- 1500 words) The Reviewer should identify the relevant arguments put forth by the author and present a comprehensive analysis of the same. The Hard copy of the book must be provided.

Guidelines for Submission

  • Submissions should be in Times New Roman, 12 fonts with 1.5 line spacing, justified text and 1-inch margins on all sides of an A4 sheet.
  • Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, 10-font size with 1.0 line spacing.
  • Endnotes / Bibliography and in-text citations are not allowed.
  • Graphics, Charts, Tables, and Diagrams should be numbered consecutively and included in the body of the work.
  • Headings should follow the following standard:
  • Title of the Submission: Upper-case, bold, font size 14
  • Headings: Uppercase, bold, font size 14
  • Sub-Headings: Title-case, bold, font size 12
  • Sub-Sub-Heading: Title-case, italics, font size 12
  • Submissions must contain an Abstract (250-300 words) that outlines the main questions or themes addressed in the paper followed by five Keywords.
  • Submissions must be emailed at nlualr@nluassam.ac.in (only in .docx format). The cover letter should include the author’s profile.
  • The submission must be the original work of the author and must not have been submitted elsewhere or pending review.
  • Co-authorship is allowed.
  • The maximum number of Co-author for a submission shall only be one.
  • The mode of citation will be OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities), the latest edition.

The Journal shall retain all copyright arising out of any publications and only the moral rights will vest with the author.
