About the Opportunity

ICC is seeking to engage the services of a student intern (preferably with a background in Law) to contribute to all the activities of the department (Institute of World Business Law) for a period of 6 months.

Tasks

Under the supervision of the Institute Director, the intern will have the opportunity to actively contribute to all the activities of the department in the following tasks:

Help organize dispute resolution training, conferences, meetings (mostly virtual), in particular:

  • Helping in the promotion
  • Compiling background materials such as rules and reports for e-distribution during the events;
  • Helping in the logistical preparation
  • Monitoring the online registration system
  • Coordinating the catering, room booking and other logistical aspects if in person
  • Answer all registration related queries and troubleshoot registration related problems.
  • Doing some legal research
  • Doing some market research
  • Assisting the Institute Director in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations
  • Reviewing and updating mock cases
  • Be part of the ICC YAF activities and helping in monitoring activities
  • Compile and analyse statistics

Requirements

A student with an interest in both dispute resolution and marketing/communications is preferred. A legal background is mostly recommended, notably in ADR issues. The intern will work in English and French and should ideally have oral and written skills in both languages.

Strong attention to detail and a rigorous attitude to work is necessary.

Strong knowledge of computer tools are mandatory such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams Meeting, Internet, Zoom and PDF; and knowledge of Live Event and registration platforms would be a plus.

Eligibility Conditions

The candidate needs to still be registered as a student during the time of the internship. Recent graduates who are not anymore enrolled in an educational program are therefore not eligible for an internship at the ICC. He/she (if national from outside the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Monaco, or Switzerland) should get an appropriate visa from a French consulate.

Important Information

Interns in Paris will receive an allowance. However, interns are required to handle and pay for their own travel and accommodation arrangements for the duration of their stay. Unfortunately, the scholarship cannot be granted by the ICC.

The internship is full-time (however a few hours’ classes during the week are accepted). The average working week is 35 hours.

The working conditions will highly depend on the sanitary conditions, and part of the internship might take remotely.

Objective

The objective of the Internship Opportunity at NISD is:

Duration & Engagement

Duration and engagement of the Internship Opportunity at NISD is as follows:

  • Duration: Minimum 4 weeks and maximum 3 months
  • Engagement: Intern shall be present during the office hours i.e. 9.30 AM to 6 PM on all working days. For experience, If the Director desires, the intern may travel for field experience.

Note: Interns will be required to have their own laptops. NISD shall provide them working space, internet facility and other necessities as deemed fit by the concerned Heads, as per the availability. However, it will not be the right of the intern to claim it.

  • A candidate can apply for an internship only once during a financial year.
  • The applicants who do not fulfil the eligibility conditions, their applications shall be rejected by the Competent Authority.

  • Fluency in English or Hindi is desirable for the internship.

Selection Process

  • A maximum of 5 interns is taken for Internship at a time for each Division.
  • The selected candidates may be asked by NISD to submit the hard copy of their Recommendation Letter (RL) from their Head of the Department/Principal by giving sufficient time before issuance of the offer letter by NISD.
  • It also has to be indicated in the RL that the student would not be registered for any course requiring his/her attendance in the class during the period of internship. If any discrepancy is found, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled by NISD.
