Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, a premier residential National Law School situated on a 65-acre campus in Nava Raipur, has announced a highly prestigious academic and policy-level vacancy.

Under the aegis of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, HNLU is inviting applications for the DPIIT–IPR Chair Professor. This role is designed for distinguished academicians, seasoned IP attorneys, and retired officials to drive high-quality research, policy engagement, and capacity building in the field of Intellectual Property Rights.

Eligibility Criteria

HNLU has established a broad yet highly selective eligibility framework encompassing academia, legal practice, and government service. An individual is eligible if they meet any one of the following criteria:

• The Academic Route: Must have served as, or meet the UGC eligibility criteria for, a Professor or Associate Professor, possessing sufficient teaching and research experience specifically in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
• The Practitioner/Professional Route: Must be an IP attorney who has practiced IPR law for a minimum of 10 years, OR any other recognized professional with no less than 10 years of significant experience in the IPR field.
• The Government Official Route: Must be a retired official of the IP Office under CGPDTM (such as Controller of Patent & Design, Registrar of Trademark & Geographical Indications, or Registrar of Copyrights) holding a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree, with a minimum of 05 years of experience working at Level 12 or above.

Salary & Remuneration

The selected DPIIT-IPR Chair Professor will receive a fixed consolidated pay of ₹1,50,000/- per month.
