Call for paper: Team Attorneylex

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Team Attorneylex is an online platform for law students where they can contribute their legal knowledge and get recognized for their contribution. We aim to guide the law students in their legal research, content writing, case analysis, read or understand the judgments passed by the courts, etc. because we believe that these things are an essential part of the legal profession.

Along with the other activities the endeavour is to deliver legal help to the sectors of society which are unable to access existing legal services due to illiteracy and poor economic conditions.

ABOUT THE PAPER

Theme – Socio-Legal issues, International matters and other such topics related to law.

  • Articles– 5000-8000 words
  • Short Articles – 3000-5000 words

ARTICLES: The article should be a comprehensive review of the contemporary relevant legal issue(s)/question(s) that needs to be analyzed and presented. The article must be clear on the topic that is dealt upon and lucidly presented without any ambiguity. The authors’ stand on the issue(s) should be expressed with clarity. The word limit for the submission is 4000 – 8000 words for long articles and 3000-5000 words for short articles exclusive of footnotes and abstract.

 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 

1. Inclusions 

The paper should compulsorily include:-​ 

  • Abstract 
  • All the entries shall be accompanied by an abstract which should be of 250- 300 words, explaining the main idea, objective of the article and the conclusions drawn from it. The Abstract must include the author(s)’ name and college/institution as a footnote.
  • Keywords 
  • Hypothesis 

These requirements, apart from the main content of the paper are necessary for the consideration of the same for publication. Non-availability of the above mentioned in the paper shall lead to disqualification. 

2. Paper Submission 

All the submissions must be mailed to submission@teamattorneylex.in​ Submissions​ must be in MS Word (.doc or docx.) format only. Submissions made in any other format shall not be considered. 

The abstract has to be provided in a separate file. 

MAIN TEXT – Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 spacing, justified alignment, with a margin of one inch on all sides. 

FOOTNOTES – Times New Roman, font size 10. Substantive footnotes are accepted. Speaking footnotes should be avoided. 

CITATION- The Bluebook:19th Edition shall be strictly adhered to.     

Co-Authorship is allowed up to a maximum of 2 authors. 

Both single and co-authored (a maximum of two authors) entries shall be accepted. Only one submission per author is allowed. In case of multiple submissions by an author, all the manuscripts submitted by the author shall be rejected at the outset. In case any author submits multiple papers either with the same author or with a different author, all the papers submitted by the author shall be rejected outrightly. The submission must be the original work of the author(s). In case of gross plagiarism, the manuscript shall be rejected directly. The relevant sources should be duly acknowledged as footnotes. The decision of the editorial board in this regard shall be final and binding. The manuscript shall be original and unpublished. 

3.   Undertaking Submission 

All the author(s) are required to submit an undertaking in a separate document mentioning their name, age, institution, year and field of study. The undertaking must include a declaration that none of the parts of the submitted article has been reproduced from any published material and the submission has been nowhere published beforehand and the same is not under consideration anywhere for publication and the author(s) shall be solely responsible for any copyright violation and consequences ensuing. 

  1. Submission Mode     

The subject of the mail shall be ‘volume I issue I, Team Attorneylex Journal’. No submission shall be accepted after the deadline. All the manuscripts shall be submitted in English Language only. The language used must be formal and clear, adhering to the submission guidelines of the Journal. 

The publication is free of cost. 

INTIMATIONS

Team Attorneylex Law Journal shall peer review the submissions and shall reject any submission if the same does not match our quality standards. The authors shall be communicated by the end of the month regarding the acceptance/rejection of their submission.

However, the intimation regarding the acknowledgement of submission will be sent to the author within 48 hours (working days) of the submission.

The editorial board of Team Attorneylex Law Journal will help the authors in every possible way to make their submissions meet the standards of our journal.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZER

Young Ignited Minds Foundation (YIMF) Academia is a student-run and reviewed journal. The journal was founded by the members of the student run NGO YIMF, based in Punjab, and functioning in Mumbai and Rajasthan as well.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL

The main focus of the journal is to create a forum to share different viewpoints on contemporary socio-legal issues. The first issue of the journal was published in June, 2020 with the theme ‘COVID-19: A multilateral catastrophe on the Society’ bearing the ISSN: 2582-6123. The present call for papers is for the second issue of the same Journal.

FONT STYLE

The manuscript submitted by the author(s) must adhere to the following rules-

1. The manuscript submitted must be in Times New Roman.

2. The line spacing for the main text must be 1.5 and 1 for the footnotes.

3. The font size of the title – 14, Bold and underlined; 

font size of headings -12 and bold; 

and the font size of the body – 12.

4. The authors are requested to strictly adhere to the aforementioned formatting guidelines, failing which the submission may be rejected.

5. The abstract must be included within the manuscript and must not be over 300 words.

CITATION STYLE

The author(s) are kindly requested to provide the link of the sources which have been cited in the main body or are requested to provide endnotes.

OTHER INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Along with the manuscript, the author must provide an abstract (not exceeding 300 words). The abstract is not included in the word limit of the article. 
  2. Authors are requested to give a written undertaking that the manuscripts submitted are original pieces of work and has not been plagiarized nor has been published or is in consideration for publishing in any other place.
  3. The cover letter of the author(s) must consist of the names, profession and university/firm/place of work.
  4. The authors are requested not to include any irrelevant formatting attributes such as borders, header/footer texts, etc., in the manuscript.

PUBLICATION CHARGES

Uniform publication fee of ₹1000 for single author and ₹1500 for co-authored articles would be charged.

The fess has to be sent by the contributors once the YIMF Academia Editorial Board sends the intimation of selection of the manuscript.

In order to facilitate publication of quality research work and uplift the weaker sections of the society, no publication fees would be charged from students belonging to the lower economic strata of the society. Once the YIMF Academia Editorial Board sends the intimation of selection of the manuscript, such students are required to send the ‘Income Certificates’ of their parents or any other official document that certifies the economic state to seek such benefit.

About LICAMR (LEGISNATIONS INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR ARBITRATION, MEDIATION, AND RESEARCH)

LICAMR seeks to serve as a think-tank to generate awareness about arbitration law in theory and in practice and also carry out high-quality research in the field to assist policy-formulation by the Government. About the Journal: International Review Of Dispute Resolution 

International review of dispute resolution is a bi-monthly, double-blind legal journal based at Legisnations emanating and embracing legal scholarship.

The International review aims to publish comprehensive treatments of subjects (“articles”), written by law students, professors and scholars as well as shorter pieces, commonly called “notes” and “comments”.

The journal provides a vehicle for the development of high-quality legal knowledge in the context public policy, constitution, technology and is subject to special issues. It publishes up-to- date and original legal research contributions for the benefit of scholars, academicians and policy makers.

It welcomes scholarly legal articles dealing with the application of law in varied areas, or with the related professional and policy aspects. The International review of dispute resolution requests the contributors for compliance to the following guidelines:

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

All manuscripts must be submitted in English. Authors must ensure that all submissions are exclusive to the International review of dispute resolution. All submitted articles are subject to review. All the authors are expected to maintain high standards with respect to publication ethics.

SUBMISSION HEADS AND WORD LIMITS (Including Footnotes):

All submissions must contain an abstract of not more than 300 words, inclusive of 5 keywords.

□ Long Articles: 7000 to 10,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

□ Short Articles: 4000 to 6000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

□ Case Comment /Legislative Critique & Notes: 3000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

□ Book Review: 2000 words (inclusive of footnotes).

(For book reviews, only unsolicited entries are encouraged. It is also required that the

book must have been published/reprinted in the last three year from the date of submission).

COVER LETTER:

A cover letter with the name of the author and address, designation, institution/affiliation, the title of the manuscript and contact information (email, phone etc.).

STYLE AND FORMATTING:

Articles must be in a Microsoft Word-compatible format (.doc or .docx preferred). Articles should be in Times New Roman font size 12 and double-spaced. Main Title should be in full capitals, bold and centered font size 16. Sub-titles should be in sentence case, bold and font size 12. Every submission except book reviews are expected to have an abstract of the paper not exceeding 300 words, exactly above the main text and below the main title. Footnotes should be in Times New Roman font size 10 with single spacing.

CITATION FORMAT:

Authors are requested to use footnotes instead of endnotes. Footnotes should conform to the Bluebook Uniform Style of Citation (20th edition).

COPYRIGHT AGREEMENT FORM:

The contributions accepted for publication shall be the intellectual property of the review. The Law Review will send the Copyright agreement to the authors of the accepted papers. Duly filled/scanned Copyright Agreement Form should be submitted by authors within 30 days of receipt of agreement. Publication process will not be initiated in absence of the accepted copy of the agreement.

ARTICLE WITHDRAWL/RETRACTION

If an author wishes to retract or withdraw his submission, the same shall be immediately informed to the Editorial Board via email, within two days from the date he receives the notification of acceptance or selection of his paper. The said submission shall be henceforth removed from the electronic repository of the journal.

The deadline for submission for inaugural issue is 10th September, 2020, by 11:59 PM. While submissions shall be accepted across the year, those made after September 10th, 2020, will be considered for the forthcoming issues.

About IJLPP

Indian Journal of Law and Public Policy (IJLPP) is a student reviewed bi-annual, law and public policy publication. The journal is a solemn effort to promote erudite discernment and academic scholarship over the contradictions which have given way for a continuing debate between the relationship of law and public policy. It seeks to create a platform where there is a flow of ideas and thoughts regarding issues mutually relating to law and public policy.

Submission Guidelines

  • The work submitted shall be original and unpublished.
  • Plagiarism of any kind is prohibited.
  • Maximum Co-Authorship of two persons is allowed.
  • When reviewing submissions, the Editorial Board considers whether the manuscripts are contemporarily relevant, topical and creative.
  • Citation: The Citation style should be in consonance with Harvard Blue Book, 20th Edition. Speaking footnotes are discouraged.

Word Limit (Exclusive of Footnotes)

  • Articles: It must comprehensively analyse a specific issue including the status quo, indicating the lacunae and potential solutions. Author may compare the law of other jurisdiction to strengthen the argument in between 8,000 and 10,000 words.
  • Short Articles: They are more concise than articles, in terms of scope and conceptualization. It should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words.
  • Case Commentaries: A comment critiques a recent judgement, landmark case or any recent legislation or bill before the Parliament or a state legislature in between 3,000 and 5,000 words.
  • Book Review:  A critical review of any book related to the law in between 3,000 and 5,000 words.

  • The manuscript must not contain any indication of the identity of the author.
