Team Attorneylex is a Student-run organisation; it is an online platform for law students where they can contribute their legal knowledge and get recognised for their contribution. We aim to guide law students in their legal research, content writing, case analysis, reading or understanding the judgments passed by the courts, etc., because these things are an essential part of the legal profession.

In this epoch of information explosion, it has become really difficult to rely on the content available online because of various reasons; sometimes, it is the authenticity of the content itself, the language of the content, wrong citations etc. But we are here to ensure quality content for you, written by experienced writers and checked by professionals. This website aims to provide legal reporting that is more accurate, transparent and accessible to everyone.

Along with the other activities, the endeavour is to deliver legal help to the sectors of society that are unable to access existing legal services due to illiteracy and poor economic conditions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive legal research and produce well-researched articles and research papers.
  • Incorporate relevant case laws, judicial decisions, regulations, notifications, etc. into content to meet project requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd year student in a three-year law program or as a 3rd, 4th or 5th year student in a five-year law program or pursuing LL.M. or Ph.D. in law.
  • Strong proficiency in English, as all work products must be prepared in English.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Access to a reliable computer and internet connection.

Assisted in arbitrations and negotiations, and examined in detail the provisions of the Arbitration Act, 1940, and the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996.

In-depth research was done on aspects such as questioning the adequacy of evidence in an arbitral award in a setting aside action, the finality of a specific question of law referred to an arbitrator, ‘error appears as a ground for setting aside, the applicability of foreign judgments on arbitration, etc. Worked on various cases relating to, inter alia, Development Control Rules, 1967, Development Control Regulations, 1991, CRZs, Debt Recovery laws, Co-operative Society disputes and Property disputes.

Conducted Recovery suits, Testamentary matters, DUI cases and Partition suits. Provided exhaustive research on issues such as corporate appointment, provisions relating to electronic records, agreements for lease based on contingent events, admissibility of affidavits notarized in Canada, etc.

About the Internship

Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and reviewing of petitions, suits, written statements, complaints, notices drafting & vetting all commercial documents, contracts & agreements
  • Drafting and reviewing other legal documents such as demand lease/sale agreements, Leave & License agreements, etc. and registration
  • Managing and undertaking legal research as required
  • Handling the due diligence, screening of documents, search, and statuary compliances to mitigate possible risks, land purchase
  • Appearing in courts, coordinate with seniors, handle Revenue matters

About the School of Good Governance and Policy Analysis

The Madhya Pradesh government founded the School of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AIGGPA) in September 2007. In October 2014, the School of Good Governance and Policy Analysis has renamed the “Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis” in order to pursue broader goals.

Eligibility

Students pursuing courses at the post graduate level at their parent institution of learning or passouts from such institutions during the two academic years prior to the year in which applications are invited.

Duration

Minimum 2 to a maximum 6 months.

Stipend and Other Facilities

  • Monthly compensation of Rs.10,000/- on completion of prescribed formalities and satisfactory output as per AIGGPA’s rules and procedures.
  • They will also be eligible for train travel expenses from their place of study in India to Bhopal and back by AC 3 Tier by the shortest route.
  • Similar Travel costs for travel from the port of entry in India to Bhopal will be payable to students from abroad.
  • Shared Office space and access to ICT facilities will be available.

Duty Station

During the internship, the intern will work at one of the Centres of the AIGGPA, under the overall supervision of its head, designated as the Principal Advisor.

Certificate

On successful completion of the internship, the intern shall be issued a Certificate and a letter of reference by the Institute.
